Back table is a two-piece plate of moderately flamed maple with ebony inlay at the center joint
Ribs of matching maple to that of the back table
Scroll and neck are copies of Prescott made by Barrie Kolstein in 1987
Tuners are copies of Parson gears
Varnish is brownish amber

The only known video of Scott Lafaro playing his Prescott Bass, which was made in 1825 in Concord, New Hampshire by Abraham Prescott. This clip is an excerpt from the April 1958 Bobby Troup 'Stars of Jazz' show featuring the Richie Kamuca Quintet The Prescott bass was heavily damaged by fire in the accident that took Scotty's life, but was restored by Barrie Kolstein.
