Width at the upper bout: 19 3/4 in. Width at the center bout: 13 1/2 in. Width at the lower bout: 26 1/2 in. Mensure (string length): 41 1/4 in. The only known video of Scott Lafaro playing his Prescott Bass, which was made in 1825 in Concord, New Hampshire by Abraham Prescott. This clip is an excerpt from the April 1958 Bobby Troup 'Stars of Jazz' show featuring the Richie Kamuca Quintet The Prescott bass was heavily damaged by fire in the accident that took Scotty's life, but was restored by Barrie Kolstein.
